I have never needed small-base dies, though I imagine that some situations (chambers) might. I recommend Redding dies, and the Redding Competition seater in particular.

WebbFirst, I doubt you need a small base die. I load for competition. I use a full length Lee die and I haven't had problems. It sounds like you have the die set up correctly. Load up five dummy rounds (no powder or primer) and cycle them through your gun. I lose or split the neck of AR brass long before I see issues from using SB sizing dies vs standard ones.
