They also perform at a lower level in freezing temperatures and are more costly than semi-metallic pads. They don’t suffer from brake fade as much though, so work well when used for repeat stops. If you use slotted and dimpled rotors, I think mine are EBC or Powerslot, and EBC Greenstuff pads, you won't have even a hint of brake dust, NEVER have fade, NEVER have warpage, and will be able to stop the way a vehicle in the 21st century should be able to. Made up of Kevlar and steel, this is still considered to be a semi-metallic pad, but the higher concentration of Kevlar significantly reduced noise. I usually buy my parts from Rock Auto and, if I remember correctly, they list the BRSD-1414 pads as ceramic but about half the other sites list them as semi-metallic.
